ASSISTANT MANAGER, LEGAL

Job Summary

In this role, The Assistant Manager, Legal will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing legal operations related to fundraising, lending, and capital mobilization activities. This individual will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, provide strategic legal counsel to support business objectives, and actively engage with lenders alongside the Board of Directors (BOD). 

Main Responsibilities
  1. Legal Advisory & Compliance:
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and solutions to ensure all fundraising and lending activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, loan agreements, and other legal documents related to capital mobilization.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the company’s financial operations and advise stakeholders accordingly.
  1. Fundraising and Lending Support:
  • Lead legal aspects of capital-raising efforts, including debt and equity financing.
  • Oversee the structuring and documentation of loan agreements and ensure their enforceability.
  • Collaborate with financial and business teams to design innovative legal frameworks for fundraising strategies.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Represent the company in meetings with lenders, investors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in high-level discussions alongside the BOD to negotiate terms, address concerns, and build strong relationships with partners.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with lending and fundraising activities.
  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to minimize potential legal liabilities.
  • All arising matters related to assigned scope of works.

Requirements
Language 
  • English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Related experiences and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law. A professional certification or membership in a legal bar association is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the same or a related position.
  • Experience focusing on lending and fundraising activities is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with high-level stakeholders and diverse teams.
  • Experience working in dynamic environments, preferably in the financial or corporate sector.
